The scientists used the animals for test the cochlear implants. They are hopeful it will be improve by in few years like the nerves implant. It will be great for in the future for the many reasons, it can be very useful for other things like paralyzed, spinal damages, and more. Also it will help to move the research to further than we have right now.
But at same time, is it abuses the animals? Well, it might not hurt the animals to have the cochlear implants because it is same thing to the human.
Sometime, I am afraid that the scientists can be overdo it. I am agreed to whatever is more reasonable. This one I am accepted but not 100%.
